Saleena gets mad one night and decides to go after Sherry who is returning home after a night on the town. while at the same time dealing with a pregnant girlfriend, Saleena. In 2003 Don Juan was under house arrest and living with his baby momma, Sherry. Then when he was in high school his aunt took them to court and he was sent to live with her in the ghetto which is where he met Don Juan. Lex's mom had been imprisoned when he was very young for killing his father and Lex was taken in by the rich white couple that his mom worked for. Set in Philidelphia in 2008, it involves Don Juan Jackson who has just gotten out of prison and is picked up by his best friend Lex. This was very well written and I recommend this book for those who like Urban or Erotica novels. While the story was not for me, Brooks was successful in creating a world where the characters fit. I was expecting more of a crime or thriller novel but received something else instead. CONfidence by Rahiem Brooks was not the novel for me. I never felt like a character did not belong, rather they complimented this book very well. They were created for this world and this story. However, all characters in the story felt like they belonged. I honestly enjoyed reading about Lex more than Don Juan. The characters in the novel were good for the story. The writing style was very successful for this story. These are typically not the type of genres I lean towards. I would describe this book as urban and erotica. While I did find the story interesting since it is not my typical read, the content was a little too erotic for me. I decided to push through in order and give it a shot. Within the first two chapters I realized it was going to be different than what I expected.
I noticed that it was a little different than most of the thriller novels I read but I figured I would give it a try. When I read the premise of this book I really expected a more thriller novel than anything.
